Memorial Weekend Work Bus Disaster | return
The Memorial Weekend Work Bus Disaster was an accident involving the Chelm Work Shuttle that took place on 25MAY25. For several days, Bruno Mondragon was pestering Scottie Smith to trade wagons with him so that the wagon used for the work bus would have the big wagon tires. This provides for a faster and smoother ride. The wagon normally used has traditional wagon tires. Scottie finally agreed and made the trade. After a long wait, workers finally boarded the wagon in Chelm in anticipation of heading to Jelm. The wagon exceeded capacity with 4 children. Immediately after departure, passengers began complaining about their discomfort on the crammed ride. The driver, all hopped up on NR supplements and unaware of the change in the center of gravity of the wagon due to the change of tires, recklessly started going down Watermelon Hill. A hill that Bella Lorleberg had protested many times in the past for the work bus to avoid. Almost immediately the wagon began to tip, catapulting all 4 children down the hill into the brush of Watermelonia. The accident caused 2 casualties, Yanni Mondragon and Lisa Hammerbeck, who both cried for 5 minutes straight and pouted for an additional 5. Despite sustaining minor injuries, they both calmed down after receiving popsicles. The wagons were promptly traded back, and the Chelm Work Shuttle resumed normal activities later in the day. New safety regulations were mandated to prevent accidents in the future.
